Jan 6, 2026, WCTV, Tallahassee, FL: Something Good: Sensory room for students coming to Scott Elementary thanks to Community Foundation Grant
THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - A welcoming sensory room for students could be making its way to Scott Elementary School thanks to a grant.
Scott Elementary’s Special Education Teacher Monica Grace was awarded a Community Foundation Grant to create the space, according to Thomasville City Schools.
The room is expected to include fidget tools, noise-reducing features, weighted lap pads, soft lighting, tactile panels and comfortable seats, the school district announced in a social media post Tuesday morning.
Furthermore, the sensory room is expected to provide students with a “calm, supportive environment to help them reset, focus, and thrive,” per TCS.
“Thank you to the Community Foundation for investing in student well-being and inclusive learning spaces,” the school district said. “Together, we’re supporting every learner, every day.”
