A new Special Educational Needs (SEN) school has been approved in Walsall town centre.

Number 18 Lichfield Street now has permission to become a facility for 40 pupils aged 11-16.

Applicant Apex Independent Academy submitted the proposals to Walsall Council to convert the two-storey office building. . . .

The latest plans involve classrooms for year seven to year eleven students, sensory and quiet rooms, a common room, IT suite and accessible toilets. . . .

Agent Anjum Design Ltd said: “The proposal provides much-needed SEN school places in Walsall, ensures a safe and inclusive environment, and protects residential amenity.”
