Schools are required to annually report the use of physical restraint and seclusion to the state by Sept. 1.... The school with the most reports of physical restraint/seclusion was Todd Elementary School, with 103 incidents, involving 25 students. Fruzen Intermediate School had 58 incidents, involving six students and Hackett Elementary School had 30 incidents, involving nine students. ... Aldrich Intermediate School, Beloit Learning Academy, Beloit Memorial High School, ... At Fruzen, 100 percent of the incidents were with students involved in seclusion or restraint were in a self-contained special education classroom. At Todd, 77 percent of the incidents were with students in the self-contained program. The number of special education students in schools is as follows: Aldrich, 93; Beloit Early Learning, 29; Beloit Learning Academy, 69; Beloit Memorial High School, 220; Converse, 52; Cunningham, 88; Fruzen, 81; Gaston, 54; Hackett, 75, McNeel, 68; Merrill, 36; Robinson, 46; and Todd, 94.

Children today are noticeably different from previous generations, and the proof is in the news coverage we see every day. This site shows you what’s happening in schools around the world. Children are increasingly disabled and chronically ill, and the education system has to accommodate them. Things we've long associated with autism, like sensory issues, repetitive behaviors, anxiety and lack of social skills, are now problems affecting mainstream students.
