Windom, MN: School to be turned into "an autism center...for several area schools"

Nov 13, 2018, KEYC, Mankato, MN: New School in Windom to Break Ground in Spring 2019 http://www.keyc.com/story/39475337/new-school-in-windom-to-break-ground-in-spring-2019 After three years of research through focus groups and a recent survey of residents, Windom City Schools decided to address two areas of concern, an overcrowded Winfair Elementary school and limited career and technical course options at the high school. … "We're using every inch of this current elementary building. We're doing interventions in the hall. We really don't have a closet that is unused and that was the main reason for moving forward with the referendum," said Jamie Frank, principal at Winfair Elementary…. Winfair Elementary will be turned into an autism center to provide regional programming for several area schools. The current autism center at Highland Elementary School will be dedicated to pre-school students.
