Right now in Tallahassee, Rep. Emily Slosberg (D) is working on a bill that brings resources and awareness to those with mental health problems.
One part of the bill is specifically about college students and the pressures they face. …
"You have a lot of people away for the first time and they don't necessarily know how to handle the emotions or the situations they're dealing with," Carter said. …
Emory University reports there are more than 1,000 suicides on college campuses every year.
A National College Health Assessment finds 86 percent of students report feeling overwhelmed by college expectations.
