The grant also will help the district prepare for the state’s new graduation pathways requirements, which call for high school students to earn a diploma, show they are college- and career-ready, and complete applied learning experiences to graduate…. Students in the graduating class of 2023 will need to meet the new Graduation Pathway requirements. The $1.4 million grant also will enable the district to hire two district counselor coaches to lead the K-12 comprehensive college and career guidance plan. The community’s higher education institutions will be involved. VCSC will partner with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to develop digital resources to support college and career guidance. The Indiana State University counseling department will assist with training for counselors and administrators, and a partnership with Ivy Tech Community College will enable counselors to make more high school-to-college connections in areas such as dual credit….
