(UK) Wickford: Special school adds extension; expands 82 to 196 students.

Castledon SEN School, in Wickford, has unveiled its state-of-the-art extension, after it was handed over to Essex County Council by Morgan Sindall Construction.


The completion of this project was celebrated with a gathering at the school on October 17.

Families, council representatives, councillor Tony Ball, and MP Mark Francois attended the event to listen to speeches, enjoy refreshments, and explore the school's new facilities.


Ryan Liversage, area director for Morgan Sindall Construction in Essex, said: "How fantastic it is to celebrate the opening of Castledon School’s exceptional SEN facilities. . . .


The expansion aims to meet the increasing demand for specialist educational support for students aged five to 19 with autism spectrum disorder, moderate learning difficulties, and other special educational needs. . . .


This extension has increased the school's capacity from 82 to 196 students. . . .
