Health Secretary, Vaughan Gething and Education Secretary, Kirsty Williams have agreed a £1.4m investment to strengthen the support from specialist child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) to schoolchildren. The initiative seeks to help teachers better understand childhood mental health problems, in the hope of preventing more serious problems developing later in life. CAMHS practitioners will provide teachers with on-site help and advice to ensure pupils experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, and compulsive self-harm disorders receive early help in schools....
