Sussex, Spirit FM radio: Councillors confirm council tax will rise in West Sussex It's been confirmed that council tax bills in West Sussex will rise by almost 5% in the next financial year. The move's been voted through by West Sussex county councillors as part of their budget for 2019/20. It means an extra £1.27 a week will go onto bills for the average Band D household - adding up to £65 [$84 US dollars]over the course of a year. Two per cent of that would be dedicated to funding adult social care in the county. Initiatives brought in as part of the budget including £5.5m [$7M US] extra in funding for children's social care and extra investment for special support centres to help children with special education needs in the county. … An additional £6.1 million [$7.9M US] new investment in Children and Young People’s services and an additional £7.3 million investment in Adults and Health.
