(UK) W. Berks: Special school to open; 'significant need'

A new specialist school is preparing to open in West Berkshire to support children not currently able to access mainstream education.
Juniper House, based in Theale, will welcome around 20 pupils aged eight to 16 this September.
The school is designed for children with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing challenges and those who have experienced trauma.
The new facility is run by Amegreen Children’s Services, the same organisation behind Haywards Farm School for primary pupils and Northcroft School for secondary students.
Rachel Redgwell, director at Amegreen, said: "There is a significant need for specialist schools in the UK, and we are proud that Juniper House School will become our third school supporting children and young people in our local community. . . .
Juniper House will focus on small group learning and personalised support, aiming to help each pupil gain confidence and life skills.
Amegreen also operates 12 children’s homes across rural West Berkshire and Hampshire, offering long-term placements for young people referred by local authorities.
These homes are rated 'outstanding' and 'good' by Ofsted.
The school is now accepting referrals for places.
