SE England The head of a new school for children with complex social and communication needs has explained why they are needed in Mole Valley. Fox Grove School, located in Leatherhead, Surrey, is due to open in September this year for children aged 5-19 with complex needs such as autism. Currently under construction, the school will initially be open for 64 pupils and will grow over the next four years to educate 152 pupils. Marie O’Rourke, Principal of Fox Grove School, said a school such as hers was necessary given the lack of other facilities in the county. "There is a need for a new school like Fox Grove because more children require special school placements, including increasing numbers of pupils with autism and complex needs," she said. "Establishing Fox Grove provides an opportunity to educate more children closer to their home and meet the needs of local children and families. Fox Grove would be the fourth dedicated school for children with autism and complex needs within Surrey….
