(UK) StokeonTrent: Autistic 11y-o rejected by 52 schools

Mar 7, 2025, Birmingham Live: Autistic boy stuck at home for 11 months after '52 schools reject him'

Midlands

A mum has told how her 11-year-old son was 'rejected by 52 schools' due to his behaviour caused by complex needs.

Amir El Farra has autism, ADHD and severe learning difficulties and previously attended a special school.

He was removed from the school in March 2024 and his father, Abdelrahim, quit his job to care for him.

His mum, Hayley, from Trent Vale, told StokeonTrentLive: "He went to the school from three years old up until last year. We always struggled with the school to get him the right support.

"His needs are quite high with his disabilities. He started to display quite challenging behaviour and they ended up secluding him in a room away from the other pupils.

“That really shook him and made the behaviour worse. He became quite aggressive but they reassured us it was the right thing for him.
