(UK) Salisbury: Elem school gets grant to create "special area" to help with mental problems

Jan 25, 2020, SPIRE FM, Salisbury, England: Grant for Salisbury school will help pupils with mental health https://www.spirefm.co.uk/news/local-news/3029619/grant-for-salisbury-school-will-help-pupils-with-mental-health/ Pembroke Park Primary is setting up a special area called Thrive, where children can take some time out. The school's PTFA has been given a £500 grant towards the project from Salisbury Reds. They've donated to Pembroke Park as part of their Community Fund. WHAT IS THRIVE? It's an area of the school that's set aside for pupils to use when they're 'going through difficult times in their lives'. Lisa Davies from Pembroke Park said: "They may be going through a number of issues - perhaps their parents are divorcing or maybe they are suffering mental health problems. Our new Thrive space is a safe and supportive place for them to come to, where they will have the opportunity to relax and talk if they would like. "The backing of local companies like Salisbury Reds will help us to expand the help we provide here - as well as making this area of the school a lovely place to come to when children feel at their most vulnerable. We would like to thank Salisbury Reds for its generous support." "This is our pledge to support those living in areas where we operate bus services. It is important that we build strong relationships with local charities, clubs and organisations. "Thrive is a wonderful initiative - and I am delighted we are able to help with its development."
