Cavendish High Academy intends to demolish a disused garage building on its grounds and construct an extension with two classrooms.

An application for prior approval submitted to Halton Council said the remodelling of the special educational needs school (SEN) on Lincoln Close is required to ease "existing capacity issues", by creating what it said was a more "flexible learning environment"….

The school is open to pupils aged 11-19 and accepts students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autistic spectrum condition and other special educational needs….
