The Department for Education today (Monday) announced that Oak Tree School, which is being set up by Maiden Erlegh Trust, has been green-lit and is due to open in September 2022. It's hoped that the new school will go some way to addressing the lack of places for children with SEND in the area. Oak Tree School will accommodate 150 pupils with SEND and will be designated for pupils with a Social, Emotional and Mental Health and/or an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. The special school has been planned to meet the increasing need in the boroughs, providing a local education setting for more children to remain close to home for schooling….
