An award-winning private equity firm is pumping £12.5m into Plymouth’s newest school so it can buy a listed city centre building and teach children with autism and who don’t fit into mainstream education. London-based Investment manager Downing LLP is to fund Spaghetti Bridge’s new schools in Stonehouse and Yelverton….
Spaghetti Bridge has also bought a large building in Yelverton which will be turned into Heather Bridge School. Both sites will be refurbished and opened as schools for children with a range of learning needs, including social, emotional and mental health difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions - including Asperger’s syndrome - and associated challenging behaviours….
