June 30, 2026, Telegraph: New SEND Hub proposed for Deepings primary school
Lincoln County Council has published a proposal to develop a mainstream Special Educational Needs and Disabilities hub at Market Deeping Community Primary School (MDCPS).
It is anticipated that the new Hub will be effective from April, 2027.
Lincoln County Council states that the proposal is being made “to ensure children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can have their needs fully met at a mainstream school, as close to home as possible.”
This will see enhanced provision afforded at the Willoughby Road school to meet the needs of children and young people with moderate levels of speech, language and communication needs, cognition and learning needs and physical disabilities.
The proposal says that the school’s published admissions number of 45 – the number of students the school admits each year into mainstream classrooms – will not change as a result of these proposals.
“The proposed hub will have capacity for up to 10 places, each commissioned by the Local Authority (LA) via the formalised Education, Health and Care Plan route, along with up to three places available for the host school to utilise at their discretion. There is no impact anticipated on the overall capacity of the site.”
Local people and organisations are entitled to express their opinions on this matter so that all viewpoints can be taken into account ahead of the final decision being made on Friday, August 14.
Anybody who would like to object or make comments on the proposal can do so by completing an online survey at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/send-hub-market-deeping, by emailing SENDCommunities@lincolnshire.gov.uk, or by writing to the School Organisation Planning Team at Lincolnshire County Council.
