Oxfordshire's SEND provision is being inspected by Ofsted this month as pressure mounts from families to improve local services.
The regular review comes after families held a protest against Oxfordshire County Council's 'wide range of systemic failings' in providing for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Parents marched to County Hall in Oxford in November, ahead of the county’s full council meeting.
The group held banners reading “Stop failing our children”, “OCC, stop ghosting families and stop breaking the law” and “Our children exist, their needs exist, we exist! Stop ignoring us and listen!”…
Ahead of the inspection, the county council is asking parents, young people, and practitioners working with children or young people to share their experiences of the help and support available in the county in a survey available on Ofsted's website.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will inspect current provision by the council and its partners which includes education, health, social care and families.
The feedback from parents and other interested groups will give inspectors as broader picture as possible….
