Central England

Robertson Construction North West has recently received approval to commence the construction of a new 43,460 sq ft school in Mottram, a significant development designed to address the pressing needs of the Hawthorns School community. Located off the A57 on a 12-acre site, this project represents a pivotal shift for the Hawthorns School, which will relocate from its current premises in Audenshaw. Operating beyond its capacity, the school's move to a more spacious, purpose-built facility underscores a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for pupils with special educational needs or disabilities within the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust network. . . .

Addressing Capacity and Community Needs

With the current Audenshaw site deemed outdated and overcrowded, a feasibility study underscored the necessity for a new, expanded facility capable of accommodating 220 pupils. The decision to relocate and construct a new building was driven by the critical need to provide a conducive learning environment for children with special educational needs or disabilities. This move not only alleviates the strain on the existing infrastructure but also opens up opportunities for community engagement, as the new school's facilities will be available for public use outside school hours, enhancing local recreational resources. . . .
