(UK) Mildenhall: Private provider offers ASD assessments; NHS wait over 2 yrs
Parents struggling to secure an autism assessment can make use of a brand new service as NHS waiting lists exceed two years.
Two Can Talk, in Chiswick Avenue, Mildenhall, is offering the chance for children, aged three to 18, to be tested for autism.
The company has set up a new clinic for neurodivergent children to help meet demand from the area.
The service has seen all the parents in its wing and now has no waiting list.
Mags Perry, service director, said: “We have been seeing families for years and years crying out for autism assessment.
“We want to support families who haven’t had any luck or who are stuck on waiting lists, which I think now exceed two years, or who have a young child missing school as they can’t get an education, health and care plan (EHCP).
“It all spirals and Suffolk has some of the biggest waiting lists in the UK.for village primary school see it ranked one of the country’s bestTop Ofsted marks for village
"This is a really exciting time for us, with our new clinic. We have fantastic clinical psychologists specialising in autism in children."
Two Can Talk is private but did look into supplying NHS provision.
However, Mags said the company would look at making it as affordable as possible for families and does offer an hour session with a psychologist.
Two Can Talk operates from a 7,000 sq ft site and offers a range of other services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and feeding therapy. . . .
