A school for children with special education needs has seen construction begin in Mawdesley.

Rainbow Hub has spent years fundraising for the school for children aged five to 11. Once established the proposals are to extend the school, in Salt Pit Lane, to be able to offer spaces for young people up to 16…..

Chief executive officer of Rainbow ub, Lyndsay Fahey, said: “We started with a dream and, after many months of planning and hard work, we are at the beginning of the programme to make the dream a reality. …

“This development will allow us to extend the good work we already do in conductive education and our specialist nursery. It will allow us to provide support to children who may sometimes be over-looked but deserve every opportunity to become as independent as possible.”
