A school has opened a new sensory room where pupils can have a safe space to improve behaviour and learning.
The room at Magdalen Academy is equipped to enable pupils to have some time out when needed in order to return to learning feeling calmer.
Lisa Palmer, executive deputy head, said: “We are very excited to share our brand-new sensory room and circuits trail.
“Inclusion is a key part of our whole school ethos and all staff work hard to promote this on a daily basis.
“The sensory room has been created to allow children to have access to a safe environment where they can be supported to calm and regulate themselves….
“The room consists of calming lighting, cushions, tactile materials and objects, all of which are proven to help calm and relax our minds and bodies.”…
