Feb 5, 2026, Lincolnshire Online: Have your say on new special education hubs in five Lincolnshire schools
People are being invited to share their views on new hubs for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in five mainstream schools in Lincolnshire.
The hubs will offer enhanced facilities, smaller class sizes and specially-trained staff within a mainstream school environment.
Consultations will run from February 4 to March 4 for: Hawthorn Tree School, Boston; Butterwick Pinchbeck's Endowed C of E Primary School; Sleaford Church Lane Primary School and Nursery; and Tetford The Edward Richardson Primary School. The consultation for Lincoln Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School runs from February 5 to March 5.
Coun Natalie Oliver, executive member for children’s services said: “We know that many pupils with SEND will thrive in a mainstream school and leave with better outcomes, as long as they receive that extra support they need. The new hubs will offer the best of both worlds, helping pupils realise their potential.
“These new hubs will build upon the ones that have already been announced, offering additional, much-needed SEND places. However, our long-term ambition is to develop hubs in as many schools and academies as possible, meaning all children can get the support they need within their local community.”
If approved, this round of SEND Hubs will begin opening from September 2026. Some will be ready to open from this date, while others may take longer due to the building works required, says the council. All schools would open their hubs and admit pupils throughout the 2026/27 academic year, said the authority.
