(UK) Lancashire expands SPED room for 3-5 students; COST: $220K (U.S.)

July 25, 2019, Lancashire Telegraph: Special educational needs classroom extension plan revealed PLANS to extend a school’s special educational needs provision to include a larger classroom,sensory, therapy and group teaching rooms have been revealed. A planning application has been submitted to Blackburn with Darwen Council for the new facilities at St Cuthbert’s Church of England Primary School in St Alban’s Road, Darwen. The school is looking to cater for an additional three to five pupils and if possible to accommodate additional pupils for future proofing. A review prior to plans being lodged determined that break out areas, sensory, therapy and group teaching rooms and an outdoor play zone was also needed. Earlier this year, the council detailed how £180,000 [$220K U.S.] from a £616,000 [$753K U.S.] SEN grant would be used to finance the scheme. …
