What will happen in another 4 years? How can we go on like this? This is a national (and international) problem of monumental proportions. We have an entire new class of children who cannot be accommodated by the system: many are manifestly neurologically impaired. Meanwhile, the government and the medical profession sleep on regardless.

Plans for a new independent school for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Nottinghamshire have been submitted.

Wellbrook Education, a specialist education provider, wants to repurpose former office and call centre space in Browns Lane Business Park, Stanton On The Wolds, Keyworth.

If approved, the new school would be able to accommodate 25 pupils aged nine to 16 across four classrooms with the aim of helping students "flourish and enjoy fulfilling lives out in the community" according to plans.

Rushcliffe Borough Council has not confirmed a timescale for considering the scheme. . . .
