(UK) Hessle: Historic school building to be special school

An historic former school building in Hessle has been sold and is set to be reopened. The 19th Century, Grade-II Listed Hymers Hessle Mount has seen thousands of school children pass through its doors over the years.


Now the Jenny Brough Lane property, which was was built for wealthy Hull banker, James Keiro Watson before becoming a school in the late 1970s, has been acquired by SofiNo Education Group, which specialises in schooling for children with special educational needs. Last year, early years pupils and staff relocated to the main Hymers College campus in Hull before the building was put on the market. . . .


James Morgan, managing director of Jem Property said SofiNo Education Group will open the facility in 2027. He added: "We're currently active across a number of developments in Hull, including another site where we've worked alongside Garness Jones. They've been genuinely supportive of our client's ambitions in the city. . . .
