Crofton Anne Dale Junior School, in Fareham, has had planning permission for improvements to support a new 12-place Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) provision.
The development includes a new drop-off and pick-up parking area, three car parking spaces, a secure fence and gate, and a dedicated play area.
The play area will be located next to the classroom being refurbished for the ASC provision.
It will be built on existing grassland and will include a canopy, artificial grass, wet pour surfacing, and sensory equipment.
The school, which serves children aged 7 to 11, is making these changes to meet Hampshire's increased need for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision.
The development is expected to also reduce travel distances and costs.
Fareham Borough Council has raised no objections to the proposed development.
The changes are not expected to have any negative impact on the local highway network.
