(UK) Hants: Elem school hopes to add autism unit for 12 students

Residents are being invited to have their say on plans to create specialist school places for children with autism at a primary school.
Hampshire County Council is consulting on a proposal to establish a new resourced provision (RP) for up to 12 pupils with autism at Cadland Primary School.
If approved, the provision would open in phases from the 2027/28 academic year, helping to meet growing demand for specialist educational support in the area.
The new provision would be based within existing school accommodation, with minor alterations, safeguarding improvements, IT equipment and furniture provided as part of the scheme.
Pupils enrolled in the RP would receive tailored support while continuing to spend part of their school day in mainstream classes. . . .
If the proposal receives approval, a statutory notice will be published later in the year, with a final decision expected by early 2027.
