Jan 23, 2025, Daily Echo: Hampshire County Council to spend £18m [$22M] on new SEN school
Approval has been granted to spend £17.9 million [$22M] on the new special educational needs school in Eastleigh, which is expected to be open in 2026.
A planning application was submitted to the council in November 2024 to construct the new Luminous Oak school in Boorley Green – and now Hampshire County Council has committed to fund the project.
The new school is required to meet the demand for places for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in the Eastleigh area.
It will provide 125 co-educational special educational needs and disability (SEND) places specifically for pupils between eight and 16 years old.
An academy trust is expected to run the school, but this is yet to be confirmed. . . .
