(UK) Hants: 125 place special school for kids with SEMH needs opens

A new special needs school is opening its doors to pupils.
Luminous Oak Academy, located near Botley in Boorley Green, will welcome its first students from next week.
Designed for children aged eight to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, the school can accommodate up to 125 pupils.
Councillor Roz Chadd, cabinet lead member for children’s services at Hampshire County Council, said: "This is an exciting moment for local families and continues our commitment to providing high-quality education for all children in Hampshire, including those with special educational needs (SEN)."
The school was named by children in the wider academy trust and inspired by a large oak tree next to the site.
It includes calm sensory spaces, therapy rooms, specialist teaching areas, and outdoor learning areas.
Sharon Burt, chief executive of Solent Academies Trust, said: "We have created a school where every child will feel safe, valued and understood."
