(UK) Hamble-le-Rice: Elem school plans for ASD unit for 12 students

A primary school has submitted plans for a specialist autism resource provision, which include adding a play area and reorganising its car park.
The proposal, for Hamble Primary School in Hamble-le-Rice, includes reconfiguring the existing car park to create dedicated drop-off spaces and installing an external play area, both for the provision.
An existing modular building on the school site, currently used for mainstream teaching, will be repurposed for the new unit, with the play area being added to the garden of that building for students in the provision.
The autism spectrum condition provision will serve up to 12 children aged seven to eleven with autism.
The planning application states that the provision will help meet rising SEND demand and reduce transport distances and costs in Hampshire. . . .
Claire Hewitt, Headteacher of Hamble Primary School, said: "We are really excited to be able to offer a much needed provision for children with autism in the area." . . .
