Plans to expand parking and create a new secure playground at a Fareham school have been submitted as part of proposals to support a new specialist autism provision.

Hampshire County Council has put forward plans for a series of external changes linked to the introduction of a new 12-place autism spectrum condition (ASC) unit at Crofton Anne Dale.

At the centre of the proposals is the expansion and reconfiguration of the school’s existing car park to create a dedicated drop-off and pick-up area for children attending the provision. The scheme would also add three parking spaces, including one accessible bay.

School leaders say the redesigned layout would provide safer and more direct access for families and transport vehicles, while helping to ease congestion around the site during busy periods. The application also includes plans for a new secure outdoor play area designed specifically for pupils using the ASC provision. . . .

The proposals form part of wider efforts by Hampshire County Council to expand local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision and reduce the need for children to travel long distances for specialist support.
