(UK) Essex County to open $11M (US) autism school for 75 students

The Chatten Free School is to be built on land next to the New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, and is expected to cost almost £8million. Fresh details about the project have been unveiled in documents which are due to be discussed by bosses at Essex County Council next week…. The new school will have 75 pupil places and will be linked with the Market Field Learning Community in Elmstead Market, which is for children aged between five and 16 who have learning difficulties. … “It’s been in the pipeline for a few years now and I’ve been calling for a new school for a long time. … “I’m very excited and am absolutely confident it will be ready by September next year.” … Essex County Council says the building of the new school is in response to a shortfall of special needs places.
