Plans have been lodged to provide new facilities for students with special educational needs as demand soars.

The proposal at Boorley Park Primary School will see a new, single-storey modular building added to the school site next to the play area.

If approved by planners at Eastleigh Borough Council, the new building will provide classrooms, meeting rooms, accessible facilities, and support spaces for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). . . .

The trust said the application “responds to increasing demand for specialist provision”.

Cllr Prad Bains, cabinet member for children’s services, said he is “really pleased” to see the planning application and has backed the proposals.

He said: “This provision will be able to support so many local children and their families, and this is incredibly positive for the local area. . . .
