July 27, 2017, (UK) YourLocalGuardian.com: New school to offer Croydon pupils on the autism spectrum a place to learn http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/local/15437766.New_school_to_offer_Croydon_pupils_on_the_autism_spectrum_a_place_to_learn/
A new 150-place free school could be coming to Croydon.
The town is among 19 local authorities chosen by the Department for Education to open a new special free school with a focus on pupils with autism spectrum disorder (though not exclusively) an all-through education from age two to 19.
Now all it needs is someone to run it.
Organisations ranging from multi-academy trusts to specialist charitable organisations are being sought by Croydon Council to apply, setting out how they would be able to meet the specification for the project.....
"This process will give local authorities the chance to identify expert organisations with proven track records in special educational needs and disability provision to run special schools that will help hundreds of children fulfil their potential.”
