Midlands

THE DEMOLITION of Woodlands School is set to be completed next month to make way for a new special educational needs school in the city, council chiefs have confirmed.

Work is on track to rehouse a special educational needs service which is currently being delivered by Woodfield School on two separate sites.

Children from the primary and secondary schools will be brought together on one site.

The move aims to allow youngsters to benefit from the additional space….

It is hoped the new school will open by September 2025.

The council’s cabinet member for education and skills, Coun Dr Kindy Sandhu, said: “Lots of hard work has gone into this new development already and although there is still lots to do, I am confident this is going to be a wonderful transformation for our young people in the city. . . .
