Bristol City Council approves £3.3m [$4M] investment to create 54 specialist places for neurodivergent children, enhancing support and inclusion in local schools.
Bristol City Council’s Children and Young People Policy Committee have approved investment plans to create 54 new specialist places for neurodivergent children at Henbury Court Academy and St Annes Infant School and Nursery.
These new places will ensure support is available for more children in Bristol that need a specialist educational environment to work as part of a mainstream school with their friends and peers to promote inclusion.
Henbury Court Academy will receive a £1.4 million [$1.9M] investment to refurbish a building to create 30 new places, with the aim of securing these spaces by summer 2026.
