A South Belfast school was delighted to officially open its new sensory room.
Belvoir Park Primary School unveiled 'The Den' on Friday, June 25, with some of their young students immediately getting to work exploring everything that it has on offer.
Acting Principal Christine Brown, said the room had been put together through funding that the school had received and from efforts by the local community with the Belvoir ASD group holding fundraising events in order to help the room be created.
The school has three special provision classes who will be able to take full advantage of The Den when they need a bit of time to relax, but it will also be available to all other students if they want to use it too.
Speaking to Belfast Live she said: "We are delighted to be able to open The Den today with our students who we know will thoroughly enjoy the use of the new facility.
"We have been able to put this together over the past few weeks thanks to some funding that we have received and the help of the Belvoir ASD group, who have held events to support us setting this up.
"We have also installed sensory furniture and things throughout the school so there is a little trail for the children to enjoy….
