Thousands of children in England are missing out on the support for special educational needs they are legally entitled to.
“Across England, councils are having to raid school budgets to give children with special needs the support they are legally entitled to. “Dorset is one of many councils where special needs spending is going deeper and deeper into the red. “The crisis means some children do not have a school place at all. … “Five pods are being built in Dorset. “The government says it has allocated an extra 250M pounds [$326M US dollars] for special needs for two years, but councils say costs are rising faster.”
