Mar 1, 2025, WSMV, Nashville: New bill could train teachers on how to handle special needs students

A new bill would provide more training for teachers to deal with special education students in distress. . . .

It would require all teachers who don’t interact with special ed students every day to complete two hours of training.

The bill also recommends schools develop quick reaction teams who can step in to help.

A House subcommittee is scheduled to hear the bill on Tuesday.
