St. Louis, MO: County provides $1.3M for mental health services for area kids

Oct 18, 2017, (St. Louis) Lincoln County Journal: LCRB approves $1.3 million for childrens mental health services The Lincoln County Resource Board (LCRB) has approved more than $1.3 million in 2018 funding for local children’s mental health services. The funding will support 12 nonprofit agencies, which provide school-based prevention and early intervention programs; crisis care; counseling; parent and home-based programs; psychiatric services; substance abuse prevention and outpatient services; therapeutic mentoring; case management; and more. Nationally, mental health challenges and disorders affect up to one in five children each year, or approximately 13.7 million kids, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The LCRB is charged with implementing a local system of mental health services to meet the evolving needs of our children (up to the age of 19) and their families.
