Aug 4, 2025, Bay to Bay News: Now open, BrightBloom brings comprehensive autism support to Seaford
SEAFORD — An autumn open house is planned for BrightBloom Centers, a provider of treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder and special needs.
The facility began operations in the revitalized Nylon Capital Center on July 7. It serves families in Sussex County and nearby Maryland.
The Sept. 26 event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1035 W. Stein Highway. Visitors can tour the site, meet the team and learn about autism services. There will be light refreshments.
According to Tara Hurlebaus of Blue Blaze Associates, the marketing agency supporting BrightBloom, the building’s interior is complete, but signage is in development due to ongoing construction. Therefore, the rear entrance is being used as the primary entryway.
According to BrightBloom Centers, while the causes for autism are still unknown, studies suggest that early diagnosis and intervention improve outcomes.
It added that the gold standard for autism treatment is applied behavior analysis, which uses the science of learning and behavior to enhance communication skills, social skills and academics, as well as reduce misconduct.
“Access to ABA services remains a significant challenge for many families,” stated Diliana Henry, BrightBloom Centers’ CEO. “The demand continues to outpace the number of qualified professionals available, especially in less populated areas.
“At BrightBloom, we’re deeply committed to bridging that gap by ensuring more children and families have access to the support they need close to home.”
The Seaford center offers a suite of autism resources for children 18 months to 12 years, including diagnostic evaluations, early intervention, home- and center-based ABA therapy, school-based support and caregiver guidance.
Its team of behavior analysts, technicians and paraprofessionals develops individualized learning plans, fostering meaningful progress and lasting, positive outcomes.
