April 29, 2025, AGCC: Scottish charity celebrates 2025 World Asthma Day: 'Make Inhaled Treatment Accessible for All!'
In recognition of World Asthma Day on May 6, 2025, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation (AAF) is excited to launch a month-long awareness campaign under the global theme, “Make Inhaled Treatment Accessible for All".
This campaign seeks to raise awareness of the critical importance of equitable access to inhaled asthma medications, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status.
Asthma continues to affect millions of individuals across Scotland and beyond. With proper management and timely access to medication, many of those affected can lead full and active lives. This year’s campaign is a powerful call to action with the aim to inform, empower and inspire collective efforts towards improved respiratory health.
Throughout May, AAF will be hosting events, sharing stories, and providing resources to ensure everyone in Scotland knows how to manage asthma effectively. The Foundation also encourages engagement from families, healthcare professionals and the general public in promoting awareness and invites everyone to join in celebrating the gift of breath.
“It’s a time to reflect, be thankful, and advocate for those who may not have the same access to inhaled treatments,” said Vicki McGrain Rae, Head of Services and Health Promotion at AAF. “We also want to honour the memories of those we’ve lost to asthma attacks. Together, we can make a difference.”

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation is calling on individuals and communities across Scotland to participate by sharing their stories on social media, engaging with local events or contacting the Foundation directly to learn how to get involved.
Together, through advocacy, education and compassion, it is possible to ensure that inhaled treatments are accessible for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. Every voice counts and every breath matters!
