June 7, 2018, WHAM, Rochester, NY: Possible plea deal for RCSD student accused of making terroristic threat http://13wham.com/news/local/possible-plea-deal-for-rcsd-student-accused-of-making-terroristic-threat Rochester, N.Y. - A plea deal may be in the works for the 21-year-old Rochester City School District student charged with making a terrorist threat against East High School. Supporters of Abigail Hernandez were in court Thursday morning for the young woman during her court appearance. Hernandez is accused of posting a message to Facebook in February threatening to shoot up East High School. A teacher who attended court Thursday said Hernandez was part of a special education program in the RCSD and had recently been moved out of East High to a class at a different school. The suspect's minister told 13WHAM's Jane Flasch he's visited her in jail where she has been in custody since her arrest. "We have an innocent child that's totally oblivious to what's going on around her," said Robert Matthews of New Life Fellowship in Rochester. "I go to visit her and we want to keep her uplifted and spiritually grounded." On Thursday, the judge ordered a pre-plea investigation, which is an indication the case may be resolved without going to trial. Hernandez was brought to the United States as a child, but is not a citizen. She faces possible deportation hearings, which would be separate from the alleged school threat.
