Beginning this summer, the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (ESCNJ) will open a new autism program in Phillipsburg, expanding services within the state’s largest public specialized school district.

The program will be based at the former Andover-Morris Elementary School at 712 S. Main St. and will provide targeted instruction for students with advanced needs, including autism. ESCNJ officials said the program is expected to significantly reduce transportation times for students and families while also lowering school district costs. . . .

In June 2024, the Town Council unanimously approved Resolution 2024-129, authorizing the renewal of the lease agreement between the school district and the town. . . .
