People driving up see his cruiser and their behavior shifts. He can calm down a rowdy classroom just by showing up and talking to the students about “police stuff” while the teacher handles a situation. Parents see him outside during drop-off and pick-up time and know their students are safe, and maybe follow the rules a little better.
