Aug 20, 2026, New Haven Public Schools awarded $350K to expand special education services – NBC Connecticut

Across the school district there are more than 40 specialized programs, including six right here at Dr. Mayo. . . .

They will use this money to expand the programs as the number of students with disabilities continues to grow. . . .

Monday, the Governor’s office announced a total of $10.6M in state grants were awarded to 41 special education programs. . . .

According to district data, from 2022 to 2025, there has been a consistent increase in students with disabilities.

In one year alone, from 2024 to 2025, there was an increase of 272 students. . . .
