The ACES ABA Center, a new autism therapy facility located on Trent Road across from Bear Town Cinema, is set to celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony next week. The center, which has been operational for a year, offers specialized autism Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.

Stephanie Poindexter, the center's coordinator, explained the range of services provided. "It's ABA therapy. Some of the services are provided in-clinic; we also do a lot of in-home therapy. We do social skills groups, play therapy, all kinds of things. It's really tailored toward your child's needs," she said.

The ACES ABA Center, originally established in California, marks its first clinic on the East Coast with this New Bern location. Families, doctors, and community members are invited to tour the center on Friday, August 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. The grand opening will also feature a resource fair with autism specialists from the area.
