Nov 5, 2025, WTVY, Marianna, FL: NextStep Endeavor Academy opens new apartment building in Marianna
Facility teaches young adults on the autism spectrum how to live independently
NextStep Endeavor Academy celebrated the opening of its new apartment building, designed to teach young adults on the autism spectrum how to live independently.
The 10 apartments provide each student with their own space while sharing amenities, including a laundry room and a common area.
The facility is part of NextStep’s broader mission to help students transition to independent living.
“I’m just so grateful for our community. That’s one of the things we wanted to do out here at this particular site. We wanted to bring beauty from ashes,” said Director of NextStep Endeavor Academy Tammy Dasher. “Our community has been so supportive of us from the very beginning for our school. And this is just a broader part of our mission for people actually to live with us while they learn with us.” . . .
The students come well prepared, as NextStep’s curriculum covers many aspects of living independently, from cooking to doing laundry. . . .
