MA governor wants more $$$ for school security; "better resources for...mental health"

Charlie Baker is already ramping up funding for next year's budget and a big focus is on school safety. Baker would like to see more than $70 million fund school security upgrades, as well as provide better resources for students especially when it comes to mental health. The Baker administration started reaching out to school districts statewide to get their input, especially after the shootings at Parkland High School in Florida. What they learned from superintendents was their number one request was money to hire more counselors, social workers and mental health workers….
